International Scholarships

The minimum entry qualifications for admission as a candidate for the degree of Doctor of Philosophy are a Master's degree and the ability to pursue research in the candidate's proposed field of advanced study.

The Singapore Government awards the scholarship to Government-endorsed students from the other member countries of the ASEAN. Each Scholarship is for a full-time undergraduate degree course at the Nanyang Technological University, the National University of Singapore and the Singapore Management University. All disciplines except for Medicine and Dentistry are open to Scholars.

Application for the Singapore Scholarship must be submitted on the prescribed application form (The application form and supporting documents must be of A4 size and printed on one side only). Please contact the Singapore Embassy/High Commission/Consulate-General in your capital city for a copy of the Singapore Scholarship brochure and application form.

The National Institute of Education, Singapore (NIE), Nanyang Technological University, is looking for suitable candidates to apply for full-time research scholarships at NIE leading to the Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) degree. Candidates with research interests in the humanities, education, sciences and physical education are welcomed to apply. The scholarship will commence in January 2009.

A few scholarships in the area of mathematics, geometry and computer graphics are available. They are a part of the NRF funded project entitled "Visual and Haptic Rendering in Co-Space". The work will be carried out at the Centre for Advance Media Technologies (CAMTech) of Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.

The Wesleyan Freeman Asian Scholarship Program provides expenses for a four-year course of study toward a bachelor's degree for up to twenty-two exceptionally able Asian students annually from these countries and regions: the People's Republic of China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

The Japan Foundation offers scholarship to study the Japanese language for Asian students, who wish to study at graduate schools in Japan and have a strong wish to contribute to regional cooperation after obtaining a Master or Ph. D Degree.
